Currently working in insurance, William "Bill" Deyesso has had several years of experience working the real estate development industry, which he considers his life-long passion. During his free time, William "Bill" Deyesso enjoys several sports, including fencing.
Fencing is considered to be one of the oldest games in history. Because fencing originated directly out of wars, the sport has always been extant in areas wherever there is war. However, it was probably the Germanic tribes that conquered fallen Rome that considered swordfight as one of the viable methods of settling grievances. The Germanic empire's influence eventually spread through the entire Christendom.
In Europe, there were three schools of fencing: Italian, Spanish, and French. It is the latter school that predominated in the United States and in Central America. Fencing came to the United States in the 1860s through French immigrants. The first fencing school in the country was established in 1874.
