The chief executive officer of Buyer’s Choice, Inc., since 2000, William Deyesso also has served as the executive vice president of Wynn Management and Development. Outside of his professional work, William Deyesso supports charitable organizations like the Autism Research Institute (ARI).
Founded in 1967, ARI is dedicated to providing resources and support for people with autism, their families, and their caregivers, in addition to funding research into the disorder. Over the course of its nearly 50-year history, the institute has led on a number of research fronts, ranging from biomarkers and metabolism to viruses and nutritional needs. To address different issues that impact people with autism, ARI continually expands its mission and establishes new programs and research initiatives.
One of ARI’s programs is the tissue bank, created in conjunction with National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. By researching donated tissue samples, ARI hopes to determine if any biological elements contribute to the disorder. Additionally, the organization led the creation of the Global Autism Collaboration (GAC), a networking and communication group. Designed to establish a worldwide advocacy and care standard, GAC is free for nonprofits and offers webinars and discussion topics for all of its members.
